Grant from Meta Louise Vreugde Foundation

Thundering Paws was awarded a grant from this foundation, through the generosity of Dr. Roy Smith of Central Texas Cat Hospital in Round Rock, who knows of Thundering Paws through his wife, Sheila Smith, Founder and Director of Shadow Cats (www.shadowcats.net).

Meta Louise Vreugde was a client of Dr. Smith's and when she died, she left funds for him to distribute to worthy organizations that care for cats. We are truly grateful to be one of those organizations. Thundering Paws feels doubly blessed, first to have been awarded the grant, and second, to be able to be associated, even posthumously, with someone who was "the best thief of German bicycles in all of Holland." What a wonderful legacy of courage and resistance!

Adoption Events

Every Sunday: PetSmart Adoption Days on Brodie Lane

5207 Brodie Lane, Austin, TX
2:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Come to the PetSmart in South Austin on Sunday to meet the newest adoptable cats from the Thundering Paws sanctuary! We're there now every Sunday except for Mother's Day.

On most other Saturdays and Sundays, pets from our foster homes are there to meet you. Hours vary depending on volunteer availability.
