Lola was a feral-born store kitty. When the store lost its lease, Lola and her brother came to live at Thundering Paws. Lola has a favorite spot on the screened cat run, where she can relax in the rafters and survey the world from above.

When this beautiful kitty was found with her newborns in 2003, she was completely feral and was going to be euthanized at a "kill" shelter. Fortunately, the director knew of Thundering Paws and brought her and the babies to us. We planned to transfer her to a feral colony after being spayed. However, one of our volunteers noticed a little twinkle in Lilly's eyes and had a hunch that she would be better off staying here. She's come a long way, and is comfortable on the cat run with her kitty friends.

July was a feral cat who was trapped and came to us very thin and ill. We started feeding her well, but she was unable to gain weight. One of our dedicated volunteers worked with her to get her tame enough to take to his vet. It took more than one visit and more than one vet to figure out what was wrong. In January, 2005, she underwent surgery which resulted in the removal of a golf-ball sized wad of plastic that was in her stomach. We figure that she had been dumpster diving and had eaten something that was wrapped in plastic. After extraction of this mass, she gained 11 ounces in two days, and had no more vomiting. She is now a very healthy cat, but still feral.

Jennifer was a feral cat. She was about four months old when she came to us, which is quite late for taming. But with a lot of patient kindness, she's now much less wild and is doing well at Thundering Paws. She's still shy, but she's a real cutie and has bonded closely with other cats here.

Hypotenuse has a strong personality, and can be a fractious girl, but she can be quite nice once she gets to know you. She is very vocal, with sounds from quiet meows to peacock-like calls. She is a beautiful silver color with striking golden eyes and has soft, soft fur. She is comfortable at Thundering Paws, but has not done well when moved to a new environment.

Hypotenuse has one sponsorship already, but we would love to have you help her as well. We hope someday to have multiple sponsors for all our kitties!
