Holiday Season Volunteering

I know, it's not even Thanksgiving yet! But the holiday season is very important for us and organizing the many fund raising events has already started. We sure could use your help!

Two of our holiday activities are gift wrapping and Santa Claws and Paws photos.

Both are very easy to get involved with and are so much fun! It will definitely cheer you up to see all the smiles you get with either of these activities and help get you in the spirit of the season.

Gift wrapping volunteers just need to show up at the designated bookstore. All wrapping materials are provided. You'll wrap gifts for folks shopping at the bookstore at no charge. Of course, we hope they pitch in with a little donation, but it's not required. Very low pressure and easy, because lots of the gifts are books and CDs, rectangular and easy to wrap.

If you like to get up close with the animals, then you might want to be one of Santa's helpers at a Santa Claws and Paws event. These events take place at local Petsmart stores. Petsmart customers bring in their pets to get their photo taken with Santa, and Thundering Paws gets a portion of the profits. It's so much fun to meet all the nice doggies (and the occasional cat or bunny). Lots of times the animals come dressed up in holiday finery -- so cute!

Please contact our volunteer coordinator if you can help us with any of these events.

No, you don't really get to gift-wrap our kitties!
