Foster to Adopt with Thundering Paws
Looking to adopt kittens and wish you could bring them home a little earlier? Our Foster-to-Adopt program gives you the chance to start bonding during the most playful and impressionable stage of kittenhood. You’ll provide love, socialization, and basic care while they finish growing, and once they’re old enough, Thundering Paws will handle their spay/neuter and vaccinations before finalizing the adoption.
Most kittens are placed in pairs around 8 to 13 weeks old, and during this time, you serve as their foster home. It’s a win-win — you welcome your furry family members sooner, and we free up critical space for other kittens in need.

What’s Expected of You
Participating in the Foster to Adopt program means taking on a meaningful role in the final stages of a kitten’s care. To make sure this program is the right fit, here’s what we ask of you:
Transportation
You’ll need access to a car so you can bring your kittens to and from the Thundering Paws Sanctuary. From there, we’ll handle transporting them to their spay/neuter appointment and cover the cost of their care.
Safe Home Environment
You’ll need to provide a secure, indoor space where the kitten(s) can be kept separate from other household pets. Quarantine is required until the kitten(s) are cleared to safely interact with other animals in the home, usually after spay/neuter.
Availability & Care
You’ll need to be available to coordinate and follow through on appointments, as well as provide the attention and care young kittens require.
Communication
You’ll stay in touch with our team throughout the process, especially for foster check-ins, scheduling wellness vetting and spay/neuter, and scheduling and finalizing the adoption.
Commitment to Adoption
This program is intended for those who are planning to adopt. If your plans change, you’ll continue fostering the kitten(s) until they find another permanent home, unless other arrangements can be made.
