A Special Mom & Son Pair

Thyme and Peppermint up for adoption in Beecave Lakeway Austin. Travis County adoptable cats.

Thyme is a momma cat who has been through a lot. Back in September, we saved her from a kill shelter where she’d had four kittens. All were adopted out, except for Thyme and her boy, Peppermint.

These two just adore each other, and they are now a bonded pair. They both love to be around people, and Thyme is a calm balance to Peppermint’s youthful energy and playfulness.

If you’re looking for the perfect pair of loving kitties, look to adopt this sweet bonded mother and son pair!

Meet Thyme

I AM: A Sweet Girl, A Shy Girl, A Momma

Thyme is a momma cat who has been through a lot. Back in September of 2020, we saved her from a kill shelter, where she’d had four kittens. All were adopted out, except for Thyme and her little boy, Peppermint. They are very attached to one another and are a bonded pair.

Unlike her wild child Peppermint, Thyme is a sweet but subdued girl who doesn’t need a lot of attention. She’s a shy kitty who likes to watch the world from a distance but with a patient and experienced adopter, she warms up quickly and sweetly comes in for pets.

Thyme loves her little boy, Peppermint, and loves to be around people. She’s a calm balance to Peppermint’s high energy and playfulness. If you’re looking for the perfect pair of loving kitties, look to adopt bonded mother and son, Thyme and Peppermint!

Meet Peppermint

Meet Peppermint the kitten.

I AM: A Playful Boy, A Sweet Boy, Bonded To My Mom

Peppermint has been through a lot in his young life. Back in September of 2020, we saved his mother, Thyme, from a kill shelter, where she’d had four kittens. All were adopted out, except for Thyme and Peppermint. They are very attached to one another and are a bonded pair.

Unlike his shy mom Thyme, Peppermint is a high-energy and outgoing young cat who loves to play, chase, and run after his turbo ball toy! A little shy with strangers at first, it takes very little time before he will seek attention, pets, and cuddles.

Peppermint loves Thyme and being around other cats and people. He’s an energetic and playful foil to his shy and calm mom. If you’re looking for the perfect pair of loving kitties, look to adopt bonded mother and son, Thyme and Peppermint!

Adopt an Adult Cat This Valentine’s Day

This Valentines Day adopt an adult cat. Adult cats make companions! They tend to be calmer and have an established personality. They are more independent and are often happy to sleep the day away while you are at work. Fill out an adoption application here!

Lily K.

Lily KI AM: A Dog-Friendly, Chatty, Lap Kitty

Lily K uses her beautiful eyes to mesmerize not only humans but her canine cousins as well! She is a sweet little girl who loves playing with dogs and cuddling with her family.

Lily K enjoys spending her day climbing on her cat tree, chasing her feather wand, and telling you about her adventures. She is a chatty girl who loves having a family to talk to and curl up with. She is affectionate, cuddly, and will seek out attention. After a day of playing, Lily K wants only a loving lap to call her own.

For all her outgoingness, Lily K doesn’t enjoy the high energy of young children but would be fine with older kids who know how to respect boundaries. She will make a great companion for a calm household looking for a young and loving cat to bring an abundance of kitty cat happiness!

Date of Birth: March 14, 2020

Lily H.

I AM: Shy, Super Sweet, Stealer of Socks

Lily H is a gorgeous girl with mesmerizing green eyes and beautiful fur markings. She’s a super looker, who’s also still super shy around people.  She likes to take it slow when meeting new people, taking her time to warm up, and not rush.

During the day, Lily H will find a sleepy corner of the house while you’re at work, but she will come out to play, snuggle, and meet you with love when you come home. At night, she loves to fall asleep on top of you. She’s a sweetie girl who will bloom when she feels safe and confident.

Lily H is perfect for a calm and quiet home, and gentle people who want a sweet and loving little girl to love and who will love you back. She doesn’t enjoy the high energy of children but seems to like dogs. She loves affection and attention, and stealing your socks!

Approximate Birth Date: September 29, 2018

Kitty will thrive in a home with people who are gentle, quiet, and willing to be patient with him while he takes the time to adjust to his new surroundings. If you’re looking for a fluffy boy with a big heart and is wonderful with children, put in an application to adopt this sweet boy today!

Her favorite playmates are other cats and older children. Whether running around the house or roughhousing, she isn’t a shy kitty at all!

The Love Story of Kittens Porkchop and Lambchop

Porkchop and Lambchop: Soulmates

The trip from intake to adoption for a kitty can have a lot of twists and turns, like all good love stories. But here’s the story of a typical adoption experience with two cats that are anything but!

Last September, we were contacted by a kind-hearted person who had been feeding and caring for two friendly stray cats behind a restaurant where she worked. She was concerned that they were not receiving all the care they needed, and there was “something funny” about their eyes. The kittens were bonded pair and needed each other.

Porkchop and Lambchop cuddled up together.

We trapped the cats and brought them into our care. The “something funny” turned out to be one case of extreme cross-eyes (Porkchop), and another case of badly scarred corneas (Lambchop). Their vision may not be perfect, but they took care of each other, and it didn’t stop them from playing, purring, and becoming pretty darn adorable and adoptable.

Porkie and Lambie went into a great foster home while we determined their medical needs and published their story, hoping for just the right adopter to come along, who would take them both and love their special faces.

Enter Pelin!  She saw our posts and opened her heart. We introduced the kittens to her on a Zoom call, which is our new covid-safe (and better than before) process for introducing cats to potential adopters. It is a great way to see cats behaving normally in their natural environments, not stressed or scared as they often are in a cage at an unfamiliar adoption event. It’s also a chance to ask questions to the people who know the kitties best – the fosters. Pelin was quickly overcome by the abundant cuteness of these two goofy kittens, and we approved her application to adopt.

Once approved, we made delivery plans. We provided complete information about Porkchop and Lambchop’s dietary and medical needs, and they were delivered to Pelin using covid-safe protocols. Pelin welcomed Porkchop and Lambchop into her home and her heart, and now they are pretty much the bosses of the house! We, and they, couldn’t be happier!
